The weather here in Halifax did not cooperate with our efforts to prepare the site for the foundation. We took almost a month to complete the work including about 10 days in order to get one day dry enough to install the plumbing rough in. Here are the steps we completed before we could start the foundation:
- Clear and grub the lot
- Install a driveway and culvert
- Install the septic field and tank
- Layout the area for the pad of the house
- Install the electrical conduit into the mechanical room, wait for inspection
- Place the well lines into the mechanical room and to the edge of the pad
- Install and compact about 35 truck load of surge rock
- Lay in some gravel in preparation for the plumbing rough in
- Install the plumbing pipes, wait for inspection
- Drill the well
- Lay in the remaining gravel in the main house and compact
- Install 200′ of PEX tubing for the HRV preheat loop
- Place the 2″ leveling layer of crusher dust and compact.
